  16. I think what's true is that we users need to know Apple's MacApp plans with
  17. regard to improvements that destablize our apps. (like interface changes). The
  18. experience with 2.0ßx left a bitter taste in our mouths.  Our apps. (i.e., our
  19. livelihoods) are built on foundations (MacApp and now C++) which we don't own
  20. or control.  That's a risk which we're willing to take, particularly because
  21. MacApp is so good. But I'd really like to know that Apple appreciates the fact
  22. that we're taking risks - trusting them, and that they will share with us some
  23. of their plans for MacApp.  I know it's a competitive world, but I'd even
  24. settle (reluctantly) for a vague statement like, "MacApp 3.ß2 will be out in
  25. Fall '91 and will require some file renaming."

  27. We absolutely don't want to stop improvements; we just want to manage change
  28. (in MacApp and our apps) a little better.
