- "When the number of MacApp users was small, the feeling we got was that
- improvements were more important than stability. Perhaps that's no longer
- true."
-
- I think what's true is that we users need to know Apple's MacApp plans with
- regard to improvements that destablize our apps. (like interface changes). The
- experience with 2.0ßx left a bitter taste in our mouths. Our apps. (i.e., our
- livelihoods) are built on foundations (MacApp and now C++) which we don't own
- or control. That's a risk which we're willing to take, particularly because
- MacApp is so good. But I'd really like to know that Apple appreciates the fact
- that we're taking risks - trusting them, and that they will share with us some
- of their plans for MacApp. I know it's a competitive world, but I'd even
- settle (reluctantly) for a vague statement like, "MacApp 3.ß2 will be out in
- Fall '91 and will require some file renaming."
-
- We absolutely don't want to stop improvements; we just want to manage change
- (in MacApp and our apps) a little better.
